Trip Itinerary

Day 1 - Arrival in Chamonix

Arrive in the charming alpine town of Chamonix, nestled at the base of Mont Blanc. After checking in to your luxurious 4* Spa Hotel Heliopic, take the rest of the day to relax and unwind. Explore the picturesque town at your leisure or enjoy the spa facilities to recover from your travels. In the evening, dinner is independent, giving you the freedom to discover one of Chamonix's delightful local restaurants.

Day 2 - Warm-Up Hike: Grand Balcon with Mont Blanc Views

Your adventure begins with an 8:30 am meet-up at the hotel. Set off on a warm-up hike along the famous Grand Balcon, offering panoramic views of the majestic Mont Blanc massif. This scenic route will give you a perfect introduction to the region's natural beauty, with sweeping vistas of glaciers and alpine meadows. The 8-mile hike includes a steady ascent and descent, making it a great way to prepare for the days ahead. Along the way, your expert guide will share insights about the local flora, fauna, and geology, ensuring an enriching experience.

Day 3 - Les Houches to Les Contamines (France)

Today, we begin with a little assistance from the gondola, ascending to Bellevue. From there, we embark on an unforgettable journey across varied terrains. First, we descend and cross a stunning suspended bridge, offering breathtaking views of the Bionassay Glacier. We then ascend to the Col du Tricot (6955ft), where the panoramas of the surrounding peaks are awe-inspiring. After the col, we descend to the charming hamlet of Miage, with striking views of the Miage Glacier. The final leg takes us up to Le Truc, followed by a descent through lush forests to the ski town of Les Contamines.

Day 4 - Les Contamines to Les Chapieux (France)

On Day 4, we start our journey from the historic Notre Dame and pass by the splendid Baroque Church, following an old Roman road that leads us to our first significant climb: the Col du Bonhomme (7641ft). After reaching the col, we traverse to the Col du Croix du Bonhomme (8100ft), entering the remote and wild section of the Tarantaise Valley. This remote part of the route showcases stunning alpine beauty, untouched by modern development. After this challenging ascent, we descend to the peaceful and picturesque hamlet of Les Chapieux, where time seems to stand still.

Starting from the Valley of Glaciers, we ascend to the Col de la Seigne (8245ft), which marks the border between the two countries. The views from the top are nothing short of spectacular, offering a perfect spot for a photo op. After the col, we descend gently into the majestic Val Veny valley, with its serene beauty and dramatic alpine backdrops.

We continue down to Le Peule Farm, a charming stop along the way, before reaching the small, picturesque Swiss village of Ferret, tucked away in the heart of the Alps.
