Trip Itinerary

Day 1: Laguna de los Tres – Fitz Roy

The journey begins with a scenic transfer from El Chaltén to the trailhead, where you’ll embark on a trek through lush lenga forests alongside the Río Blanco. Along the way, stop at the Piedras Blancas Glacier viewpoint, a breathtaking spot showcasing the glacier’s intricate formations and the dramatic moraine landscapes left behind by retreating ice. As the hike continues, the trail leads you to the magnificent Laguna de los Tres, the ultimate highlight of the day. Here, you’ll witness one of Patagonia’s most awe-inspiring vistas—a close-up view of the towering Fitz Roy massif. After taking in the unparalleled scenery, you'll descend to Poincenot Camp for a night under the stars, surrounded by the raw beauty of the Patagonian wilderness.

Day 2: Laguna Torre – Cerro Torre – El Chaltén

Wake up to the golden hues of sunrise lighting up Fitz Roy before setting off on another remarkable trek. The trail meanders through serene valleys, passing the tranquil Lagunas Madre e Hija, where you may catch glimpses of Patagonian wildlife. The route then leads to Laguna Torre, a stunning glacial lake framed by the dramatic spires of the Torre mountain chain and Glacier Grande. If weather permits, you can hike further to the Maestri Viewpoint, offering the closest and most dramatic views of Glacier Grande. After savoring a boxed lunch amidst this breathtaking setting, begin your descent through the scenic Cerro Torre Valley, returning to El Chaltén with memories of an unforgettable two-day adventure in Patagonia.

Additional Information

Our camping equipment is already set up at the campsites. Participants only have to carry personal objects and their boxed lunch during the trek. The campsites have dry toilets (with a seat) but do not have electricity or showers. Access to drinking water is available throughout most of the hike.
