Our Everest Base Camp is a moderate trekking route lead by a local English speaking sherpa/guide. You will experience the jaw-dropping views of the majestic Himalayan range enriched by the local traditions and cultures of the communities that call these mountains home. On this 14 day trip you will be accommodated at local Teahouses what will provide you with hearty meals, fueling you as you walk in the shadows of the worlds tallest peaks.

Trip Itinerary

Day 1: Arrive in Kathmandu

Elevation: 1300 m/4264 ft

Upon your arrival, you will be greeted at the airport by our representative and transferred to your hotel, where you can settle in and relax.

Explore Kathmandu's UNESCO World Heritage Sites
Today, we will immerse ourselves in the rich cultural and historical heritage of Kathmandu, visiting some of its most iconic UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Our journey begins at Kathmandu Durbar Square, a vibrant plaza that showcases centuries-old palaces, courtyards, and temples, reflecting the grandeur of Nepal’s ancient royalty. From there, we’ll head to Swayambhunath, also known as the Monkey Temple, a hilltop stupa offering panoramic views of the city and a spiritual experience amidst the fluttering prayer flags.

Next, we will visit the Boudhanath Stupa, one of the largest and most significant Buddhist stupas in the world, where you’ll witness the tranquil atmosphere and the devotion of Tibetan pilgrims as they circle the stupa. Our final stop will be Pashupatinath Temple, Nepal’s holiest Hindu temple, located along the sacred Bagmati River. Here, you’ll observe the unique blend of spirituality and traditional cremation ceremonies, an essential aspect of Nepali culture.

Day 3: Fly to Lukla, trek to Phakding

Flight to Lukla & Trek to Phakding
Early in the morning, we will head to the airport for our scenic flight to Lukla, the gateway to the Everest region. Upon arrival, you’ll enjoy breakfast in this small but bustling mountain town, where we’ll meet the rest of our trekking team and prepare for the journey ahead.

After breakfast, we begin our trek, making our way down to Phakding, a quaint village nestled along the Dudh Koshi River. The trail today is relatively easy, allowing you to acclimatize while taking in the stunning alpine scenery and passing through small Sherpa villages. This gentle introduction to the trek sets the stage for the adventure ahead.

Day 4: Phakding to Namche Bazaar

Elevation: 3,438m/11,280 ft
Hiking Time: 5 - 6 hours
Distance: 11km

After breakfast, we set out on our hike, following a trail that winds through beautiful pine forests, small villages, and pristine mountain streams. Along the way, we pass through the charming village of Monjo, where we will officially enter the Everest National Park, the highest national park in the world and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The park is renowned for its stunning landscapes and rich biodiversity.

We will stop for lunch in Jorsalle, a peaceful village situated along the Dudh Koshi River. After lunch, the trail follows the river for a stretch before it begins to ascend more steeply. As we cross the river and continue uphill, we’ll be rewarded with breathtaking views of the surrounding peaks. Soon, we will arrive at Namche Bazaar, the bustling hub of the Khumbu region, known for its vibrant markets and Sherpa culture. This is where we’ll spend the night, resting and preparing for the trek ahead.

Day 5: Acclimatization Day - Namche Bazaar

Acclimatization Day at Namche Bazaar & Hike to Khumjung
Namche Bazaar is the largest Sherpa village in the Everest region, a lively town with government offices, bustling markets, and a mix of modern conveniences such as international brand sportswear stores, internet cafés, and cozy local coffee shops. This thriving hub is the perfect place to rest and adjust to the altitude.

On our acclimatization day, we will take a hike up to Khumjung Village, another significant settlement in the Khumbu region. As we ascend, the trail offers mesmerizing panoramic views of some of the world's highest peaks, including Mount Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse, Thamserku, Ama Dablam, and Kongde.

Upon reaching Khumjung, we will have lunch while soaking in the stunning mountain scenery and getting a deeper insight into the local Sherpa culture. Khumjung is known for its picturesque stone houses, its proximity to the Hillary School, and its sacred monastery. After exploring the village and enjoying the awe-inspiring vistas, we will return to Namche Bazaar for the evening, well-acclimatized and ready to continue our trek.

Day 6: Namche Bazaar to Debuche

Elevation: 3,850m/12,694ft
Hiking Time: 5- 6 hours
Distance: 11km

Trek to Debuche via Thyangboche
After leaving Namche Bazaar and reaching the top of the village, you’ll be treated to incredible views of Everest, Lhotse, and Ama Dablam. The trail descends toward the Dudh Koshi River, then ascends after Kyamjuma, leading us to the small mountain village of Thyangboche. Here, we’ll visit the famous Thyangboche Monastery, surrounded by stunning Himalayan views. After a short descent, we reach Debuche, where we’ll rest for the night in a peaceful forested area.

Days 7-8: Tengboche to Dingboche

Elevation: 4,360 m/14,300 ft
Hiking Time: 5 - 6 hours
Distance: 9km

Day 7: Trek to Somare via Pangboche
Today’s trail is relatively flat, taking us through lush rhododendron forests. We’ll walk on the opposite side of the river and begin to ascend as we reach Pangboche Village, followed by Somare Village, where we’ll stop for lunch. Throughout the day, we’ll be treated to stunning views of Ama Dablam, Lhotse, and Nuptse—perfect for taking unforgettable photos.

Day 8: Hike to Nangkartsang Ridge
Today, we’ll ascend Nangkartsang Ridge, located behind the village. From the top, you’ll have panoramic views of Cho Oyu, Makalu, Lhotse, and more. Mt. Ama Dablam will be right in front of us, and the view of Dingboche Villagenestled below is truly breathtaking.

Day 9: Dingboche to Lobuche

Elevation: 4940 m/16,207 ft
Hiking Time: 4 hours
Distance: 7km

Trek to Lobuche via Dughla Pass
Today’s trek brings a refreshing change as we cross a wide pass after several hours of straight-line walking. We’ll reach the small settlement of Dughla for lunch before continuing towards Dughla Pass. From here, the trail ascends the steep terminal moraine of the Khumbu Glacier, leading to a ridge adorned with prayer flags and memorial shrines for climbers who lost their lives on Everest. After about 45 minutes, we’ll arrive in Lobuche, where we can rest, relax, and reflect on the day’s journey.

Day 10 - 11: Lobuche to Gorak Shep visit Everest Base Camp

Elevation: 4940 m/16,207 ft

Day 10: Trek to Gorak Shep and Visit Everest Base Camp
Today, we leave Lobuche and head towards Gorak Shep (5,170m/16,961ft), the gateway to Everest Base Camp. The trek from Lobuche to Gorak Shep takes about 3 hours, and upon arrival, we’ll leave our backpacks and have lunch. Afterward, we embark on a 2-hour hike to the legendary Everest Base Camp (5,364m/17,594ft), where we’ll witness the grandeur of the world’s tallest mountain up close.

Day 11: Hike to Kala Patthar and Trek to Pheriche
We’ll wake up early today for an unforgettable trek to Kala Patthar (5,545m/18,192ft), renowned for offering the most breathtaking panoramic views of Mount Everest and the surrounding peaks, especially at sunrise. After soaking in this once-in-a-lifetime experience, we descend and trek to Pheriche (4,288m/14,070ft), covering a distance of 16 km over 7-8 hours.

Day 12: Pheriche to Namche Bazaar

Elevation: 3,440m/11,280 ft
Hiking Time: 6 - 7 hours

Trek to Namche Bazaar
Today’s trail will consist of a series of ups and downs as we make our way back to Namche Bazaar. Our sleeping altitude will be approximately 3,000 feet lower than in Pheriche, allowing for a more comfortable rest. Once we arrive in Namche, you’ll have the chance to enjoy the comforts of civilization—whether it’s a hot shower, a good cup of coffee, or a relaxing drink.

Day 13: Namche Bazaar to Lukla

Elevation: 2,860m/9,186ft
Hiking Time: 7 -8 hours
Distance: 19km

Trek to Lukla

Today, we begin our descent from Namche Bazaar, navigating rocky terrain as we follow the trail alongside the Dudh Koshi River. The trek is mostly downhill, crossing several suspension bridges along the way. As we make our way through the scenic route, you’ll have the chance to chat with trekkers heading up. After a satisfying journey, we will arrive in Lukla, where our adventure began.

Day 14: Fly to Kathmandu

Fly Back to Kathmandu

After an early morning and a well-deserved rest, we head to the Lukla airport for our flight back to Kathmandu.

Note: We recommend scheduling your international flight for the following afternoon to account for any possible weather-related delays out of Lukla.
